Greetings!

Welcome to the game description page of the Jules-Verne Robotics team!

This year, we are playing ARCANUM. To start, the robots of 5 different schools will be reunited into 1 team. Then, the team will have to choose a difficulty level, from 1 to 3. After having picked their starting spots, the game can begin!

The game works like this :

The game consists of repairing stations by using golf balls picked up around the arena. For example, a robot will have to put a golf ball into a certain space, and then pull levers in a specific order.

The team will have 5 minutes per round. In each round, the robots can have as many waves as allowed in the 5 minutes. So, for example, the team could go through 5 waves of a minute each, or 10 waves of 30 seconds each.

The 5 schools will have a maximum limit of 1 minute per wave. The number of stations that break at each wave will depend on the difficulty level, chosen at the beginning of the round. A higher difficulty level will add more bonus points at the end of successful waves.

The arena is seperated into 2 higher sections, and 1 lower section connecting the higher sections. Additionally in the arena is a Turbo rail, which will overcharge one of the two elevated sections and their respective stations.

Repairing a station gives 50 points to the entire team. However, repairing an overcharged station gives 100 points. If the team repares all of the stations before the time limit, bonus points will be accorded, depending on the difficulty level. Finally, if one or more of the waves are completed, another bonus will be added, based on the length of time of the final wave and the number of the wave.
(Example : Wave 6, which lasts 30 seconds will give 30/10 * 6 = 18 bonus points)
