Student experience!

The programming group says that:

To ready ourselves for the competition, the programming group solved challenges online to practice and learn how to program in C++. We write our code in an online compiler. When we learn a new command in C++, we write it in a shared Word document, with how it works and all that it needs to run.

As difficulties, our biggest challenge in the groupe is probably motivation. The 8th graders often play video games and don't always seem very interested by the competition. As such, it is possible that they do not participate. We will then have to probably ask someone from a different sub-group to help at the competition.

The kiosk group says that:

Our biggest difficulty is to make sure that we will be able to put all of the materials in our suitcase for the trip to Montreal. All of the materials must be designed so that they can be put in a little suitcase and will not break apart. We must also follow a tight agenda, otherwise all of the pieces of the kiosk will not be ready in time. Additionally, we have to be able to build the kiosk in an afternoon when we arrive in Montreal, and so we must be sure that we can build efficiently and quickly.

The video group says that:

Our hardest challenge was to find an efficient team who can work and be productive.

We learned that once you have a good team, you can concentrate and make the video of your dreams.

The website team says that:

Our hardest difficulties was to find the time where we could all work. Another problem was the errors in the code, and the learning problems. Trying to work on multiple computers was another challenge.

We learned the importance of being organised as early as possible and what is important in a good website.

We are happy with our final product.
