Welcome to Wonderland!
Where up is down and down is sideways. The theme of “Alice in Wonderland” has been chosen because we believe that it will allow us the range of creativity and fun that is associated with madness and outside-the-box thinking.

Who we are
Jules-Verne is a French public secondary school in Vancouver. We are proud of our multiculturalism, having students from over 200 different francophone cultures, and our diversity of programs for the development of the students, ranging from improvisation or Model United Nations to robotics or basketball. Our robotics team has the active participation of bright young minds of over 40 students, encompassing all the grades, from the 7th grade to 12th grade. Each member has worked in one of the many departments working hard and learning the most they can.

The competition
CRC robotics is a non-for-profit company that educates, inspires and engages youth in the STEM world. The first edition of the CRC Robotics Competition dates all the way back to 2001 and, since that inception, the competition has influenced the lives of over 10 000 students, ranging over 70 schools. This competition is an annual event pushing youth nationally to test their STEM limits.
The competition itself is comprised of 5 different sections with their own individual competition.
- A Radio-Controlled Robot Tournament - Where robots must face off in a series of challenges, each unique to the year, to see which one is better adapted.
- A Programming Competition - Where students must overcome on the spot a series of real-life problems using code.
- A Kiosk Competition - Where students push their imagination and knowledge to come up with creative ways to improve, practically as well as appearance-wise, the space where the robot stays.
- A Website Competition - Where students are challenged to put their knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as website design for a functional and fun focal point for all the important information and interesting stories.
- A Video Competition - Where students must use their talents of editing, filming, music and effects to create a 5 minute video sharing about the school, the team, their robots and much more.
